The Zeer Pot - a Nigerian invention keeps food fresh without electricity
This nifty, simple, insanely effective pot has my vote for best invention of the decade.
I think I'm going to try creating my own version of this to use this summer, so I can keep all my garden produce fresh, without taking over the entire refrigerator. I wish I could use it to unplug the refrigerator completely in the summer, but I don't think that's likely.

Oh, that's not new. You never heard of the Zeer of Lublin?
If you believe this, you must be a zeer sucker (also good in hot summers).
