Daganev hits the nail on the head

On a recent Dov Bear post, the comment thread included a contribution from Daganev, a frequent visitor there, which so neatly sum up the rationale for a two-state solution that I want to preserve and ratify it here (typos and spelling notwithstanding):
  1. We are tired of supporting and being responcible for the water/power/saftey of people who would just as likley kill us.
  2. We are tired of being at war with people who are portrayed as homeless people.
  3. We want to see an end to jews dieing in the long run, and Israel becoming a non Jewish state. This means that if Palestinians have thier own country, and they attack us, we can rightfully declare war and do the lawfull war stuff, and when we attack them we won't be at the same time supplying them with power, which means we can block it. Unless they want a treaty with us, then theres no violence, and we can live our happy lives.

But having this limbo situation of not knowing who is who or what is what is not a happy existance.

While the "live our happy lives" idea is unfortunately farfetched, the rest is exactly how I feel. Thanks for laying it out so clearly, Daganev.

Pretty much encapsulates my thoughts too.

I prefer the idea of saranwrap around the Jewish element, to expando garbage bags including all the twigs and dry leaves in the territories. And being bloody-minded, I think in terms of better having the other side in the gunsights instead of in the parlor.

Now if only we could convince the world that a non-inhabited zone of rocket-range width on the other side of the border is a jolly good idea....

As it says right here and truly, it is not for the Palestinians about having a Palestinian state as much as not having a Jewish state.

The Palestinian people need to finally get the fog out of their heads and understand that like the duplicitous nobles in Braveheart, Hamas and company are doing their damndest to lose for them a "home of their own".

Unfortunately, as long as people keep thinking this is about Palestinian statehood instead of the denial of Jewish statehood, Hamas and company will continue to be encouraged, emboldened, and empowered.

The world is laboring under tremendously wrong misconceptions and all it is doing is causing Jews and Palestinians to die for the pleasure of Iran, Syria, and Saudi Arabia. If I were Palestinian, I'd hate those bastards with a passion and not the Israelis.
